Pastoral Care & Safeguarding

Our first priority to our athletes is their safety, health and wellbeing. That's why we continually ensure we align ourselves with the SSE "SnowSafe Policy"

Pastoral Care

At Excel Race Academy, the well-being and safety of our athletes are paramount, reflecting our deep commitment to the value of "Family." Each child is supported by a dedicated team, including house parents, coaching staff, and teachers, who work together to create a nurturing environment. Our coaches maintain open and consistent communication with parents, providing regular updates to keep you closely connected to your child's experience. Through our Excel Parent's WhatsApp Chat, you'll receive real-time updates, photos, and videos, allowing you to share in their journey and feel reassured about their care.

Beyond athletic training, our house parents go above and beyond to foster a sense of community and belonging, arranging enjoyable activities during evenings and rest days, such as trips to Innsbruck, trampoline parks, and local lakes. These experiences not only enhance the camaraderie among athletes but also strengthen the family-like atmosphere that is central to our academy.

Our commitment to safeguarding is further reinforced by our comprehensive Anti-Bullying and Disciplinary Policies, ensuring that every athlete feels safe, respected, and valued. At Excel Race Academy, we believe in raising not just athletes, but well-rounded individuals who thrive in a supportive and family-oriented environment.

Safeguarding

At Excel Race Academy, safeguarding is a top priority, and we work continually to align ourselves with SnowSport England’s "SnowSafe Policy." This affiliation ensures that we adhere to strict guidelines designed to protect the welfare of all our athletes. The SnowSafe Policy provides a clear and accessible route for both athletes and parents to raise any concerns directly with our Club Welfare Officer (CWO), Julie Deer. Julie is fully supported by Bridget Owens, the safeguarding lead at SnowSport England, ensuring a robust network of care and accountability. For full transparency, our comprehensive Safeguarding Policy is available for download on our website.

We take great pride in our staff's qualifications and commitment to safeguarding. All coaches and staff members undergo thorough DBS checks and have completed SnowSport England-accredited First Aid and Safeguarding Children in Sport courses. This ensures that your child is always in safe, qualified hands, further reinforcing our dedication to creating a secure and nurturing environment that embodies our core value of "Family."
